| If you haven’t previously received Wisdom from the Horse’s Mouth, you’ll receive tips for better human living from the perspective of one of my four horses mid-month. From time to time, we’ll also alert you to workshops we have planned (both with and without horses), and other resources we think you will find valuable in your life or your business.
We hope that by combining several mailing lists into a single list, we’ll be able to stop the duplicate emails. If you continue to receive duplicates from us, though, I hope you’ll take a moment to email me at Linda@InnerResourceCenter.com and let me know. If you can tell us what email address or addresses are receiving those duplicates, we can make sure we get this fixed.
And, of course, if at any time you want to drop off our list, please just follow the directions for unsubscribing at the bottom of this page.
Simple Steps for Designing an Action Plan
Last month we talked about the importance of making a plan for the future that reflects what is most important to you, and the importance of having a clear vision of the outcome you want. (If you missed that and want a copy, send me an email at Linda@InnerResourceCenter.com and I’ll make sure you receive one). The focus last month was on defining your outcome as the first step in strategic planning for your life in 2009. This month, we’ll focus on developing an action plan for getting to that outcome.
As we talked about last month, the first step is determining a clear vision of your outcome. Once you have that, developing the strategy for achieving it is the next step. Most people find it is helpful to have a step-by-step approach to getting to their outcome. Sometimes figuring out what that is can be daunting. Here’s a simple approach that is very powerful.
First think of your outcome. Stand up and visualize it out about 10 feet in front of you. What will you see, what will you hear, what will you feel when you have achieved it? Really notice what that achieving that outcome does for you. Create a clear picture of it.
With your eyes on that outcome out in front of you, ask yourself what your next step needs to be to get you there. Once an idea has popped into your head, write it down. Then take a step forward. Imagine you’ve just completed that step. Now, what is the next step? Write it down, and then physically move forward another step. With each step you are stepping into having accomplished that step. Keep looking at the outcome and imagining it there in front of you.
Step by step, outline the steps, and step into their completion. By physically stepping into the completion of each step, you are engaging your subconscious mind to provide the next step. Your subconscious mind actually knows the best way to reach your outcome, because it truly understands what you are trying to accomplish and how you work best.
Keep doing this until you’ve reached the spot where you imagined your goal. Now look back at where you started. Read over your list of steps and make sure they are in the right order and that you haven’t left anything out. Revise your plan if necessary.
Now, sit down and figure out deadlines for each of the steps. When you set a deadline, it activates an urgency to complete the plan. This is a simple way to develop your own strategic plan for 2009.
WHAT’S NEXT?
If you are ready to take the next step, here’s an ACTION CHALLENGE for you:
1. Instead of just reading about setting an action plan, stand up and move to a place in the room where you have at least 10 feet out in front of you.
2. Visualize your desired outcome in front of you. What will you see when you’ve reached it? What will you hear, or what will you say to yourself? What will you feel? (Or smell? Or taste?)
3. Make this picture very clear in front of you.
4. Ask yourself: “What do I need to do next to make this happen?”
5. Pay attention to what pops into your mind. This is your subconscious supplying you with your strategic plan. If you’ve visualized the outcome clearly enough, your subconscious mind will want to create this outcome for you.
6. Once you have the next step, write it down. Then step forward a step and imagine that you’ve already achieved this step.
7. Ask yourself: “What is my next step?” Each time, write it down and step forward into the completion of that step.
8. Continue this process until you’ve reached your goal and/or have run out of steps.
9. Then, turn around and see where you started and all the steps in between. Read what you’ve written and make sure that the order fits, and that you are not missing any steps. If you need to change, go ahead and do so.
10. Set deadlines for each step, so that you can continue to move forward and build momentum toward your goal.
11. You now have your strategic action plan for achieving your outcome. As you begin to carry it out, you may end up adding some additional steps. That’s fine. The point is that you have created a plan by using your own internal understanding of the outcome and how best to achieve it. You’ve used your own creativity to design your plan! Congratulations!

New Step Over It Program Lets You "Step Over" the Beliefs That Limit You
If you have had difficulty accomplishing your goals, reaching the next level or getting consistent results, consider the possibility that you may have a few limiting beliefs that are stopping you. Because limiting beliefs are usually unconscious—in other words, below your level of awareness—they may be chugging away like a bad computer virus messing up your best plans.
I've designed a new program to help with this. The Step Over It Program is a "mental clutter tune-up" which helps you identify the belief(s) that keep you stuck, and more importantly, takes you through a process to let go of them. It is a quick and inexpensive way to move yourself forward beyond those limitations that are keeping you stuck.

You'll spend 3-4 hours learning how to identify your limiting beliefs and letting them go easily and quickly. Most people tell me they can immediately tell the difference in what they believe and what they are capable of achieving.
Some common beliefs cleared are "I'm not good enough;" "I'm not loveable;" "I don't deserve;" "I can't…" but we'll determine exactly what is blocking YOU and clear it away. You'll be able to "step over" the limitations that used to be there.
Length of Program: Up to 4 hours
Cost: $475
Contact Linda@InnerResourceCenter.com or call me at 865-983-7544 or toll free 866-665-6103 to find out if this program is what you need in order to stop being stuck and move forward in your life and your career.
Want something more intensive and complete? Call and ask about the Emotional Clutter Personal Breakthrough Program—a way to make-over some major area of your life.
Whatever you do, make 2009 count! I'm a strong believer that you can accomplish anything if you have the right tools. I want to help you find the resources to transform your life!
